Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lincoln National Corporation (LNC) is a diversified life insurance and investment management company.   • Investment Management: (4% of FY06 operating income), focuses on asset management services for retail and institutional clients.
  • Lincoln UK: (3% of FY06 operating income), focuses on life insurance and investment management operations in the UK.
  • Lincoln Financial Media (3% of FY06 operating income), acquired its first radio station in 1934, and now owns 18 radio stations, all in top 50 markets 3 television stations in major southeastern markets including North Carolina's first TV station and Lincoln Financial Sports (a TV production company that facilitates the broadcast of Atlantic Coast Conference and Southeastern Conference football and basketball throughout the Southeast).

Following a stronger foothold in the life insurance and annuity arena, Lincoln National would consider other lines of business to diversify its operations. In addition, the company would entertain disposing of less profitable businesses or business lines in order to strengthen its asset management operations, such as pension plans, trusts, and mutual funds.
