While little ghosts and goblins take to the streets in hopes of scoring Halloween treats, TV Guide Network will give viewers a fright with a double feature Hollywood horror movie night. The network will telecast back-to-back feature-length horror films from the Lionsgate film library, including “Bram Stoker’s Dracula’s Guest,” airing Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and “Werewolf Hunter: The Legend of Romasanta,” airing Saturday, October 31 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Based on Bram Stoker's short stories, “Dracula’s Guest” follows the story of two young lovers, Bram and Elizabeth, who are forced apart by her father to determine whether their love is true. Meanwhile, the Count Dracula kidnaps Elizabeth and takes her to his castle where he waits to settle an ancient dispute with her father. Bram sets out across Europe to rescue his true love. “Werewolf Hunter: The Legend of Romasanta” is set in Allariz, Spain where an uproar is caused when mutilated cadavers are discovered in the forest, giving way to the legend of the "Werewolf of Allariz." The film is based on the true-life story of Manuel Blanco Romasanta, a traveling vendor who confesses to the murders of thirteen people and proclaims his innocence due to the curse of Lycanthropy—the supposed or fabled assumption of the appearance of a wolf by a human being.
In addition to the Halloween double feature, TV Guide Network will air “Big Movie Premiere” specials in advance of two major fall horror genre film openings. “Big Movie Premiere: Saw VI” airs Thursday, October 22 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, before the film’s October 23 theatrical release. In November, the sequel to last year’s blockbuster sensation “Twilight” arrives. “Big Movie Premiere: The Twilight Saga - New Moon” airs Thursday, November 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, one day before the November 20 theatrical release.
