LyondellBasell Industries (LYB) is a chemical company formed in December 2007 by the acquisition of Lyondell Chemical Company (which in 2004 was the third-largest independent American chemicals company[1]) by Basell Polyolefins for $12.7 billion. LyondellBasell has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange starting October 14, 2010.[2]
