Compensation Philosophy and Objectives
Our general philosophy in considering executive compensation programs is to attract, retain and motivate talented executives who can help enhance profitability and maximize stockholder value. In order to achieve this objective, we seek to provide an industry competitive total compensation package composed of an annual base salary coupled with a combination of both long-term equity-based incentives and short term cash-based incentives. This mix of incentives encourages high performance, promotes accountability and ensures that the interests of our executives are aligned with the interests of our stockholders by linking certain portions of each Named Executive Officers compensation package directly to increases in stockholder value and evaluating such increase relative to other REITs.
