Macquarie Global Infrastructure Total Return Fund Inc. (NYSE: MGU) (the “Fund”) declared today a regular quarterly distribution for the period ending September 30, 2009 of $0.16 per share.

Based on the Fund’s net asset value (“NAV”) of $17.26 and New York Stock Exchange closing market price of $14.23 on September 9, 2009, the $0.16 per share distribution is equal to an annualized distribution rate of 3.71% at NAV and 4.50% at market price, respectively.

Mr. Andrew Maple-Brown, Co-Portfolio Manager of the Fund, said: “We are pleased to see a continuing recovery of listed infrastructure securities in the last six months through August 31, particularly among stocks in the transportation infrastructure sectors that were oversold earlier this year in our view. Among the infrastructure assets managed by the companies held in the Fund, we continue to see operational performance stability and resilience to weak economic conditions, both of which we believe demonstrate the essential service nature of these assets.”

A portion of the distributions may be treated as paid from sources other than net income, including but not limited to short-term capital gain, long-term capital gain and return of capital. The final determination of the source of all distributions in 2009, including the percentage of qualified dividend income, will be made by the Fund after December 31, 2009.

This distribution will be payable on September 30, 2009 to shareholders of record on September 24, 2009, with an ex-dividend date of September 22, 2009.
