MetroPCS has benefited from a lack of attention by large wireless providers for youth and minority markets. These telecom giants are now offering pre-paid and no contract service plans that rival MetroPCS. Margins likely will suffer.
MetroPCS offered to buyout Leap Wireless in November of 2007. Leap rejected the terms. As of April 2008, talks can resume. MetroPCS may announce a bid that adversely impacts the price of MetroPCS shares.
