Based in Framingham, Massachusetts, NMS Communications is an emerging provider of technologies and solutions for mobile applications and mobile infrastructure. NMSS' products enable new mobile voice, data, and video applications, while also improving the performance and quality of wireless networks. NMSS' customers and partners include telecom equipment manufacturers, system integrators, communications developers, and mobile and fixed-line network operators.

NMSS operates in three business segments: Communications Platform Products, Mobile Applications, and Network Infrastructure. The Communications Platform Products segment includes hardware and software products that facilitate NMSS' customers to develop next-generation voice, data, and video applications and services as well as carrier-grade voice quality and echo cancellation systems that bring superior voice quality to their networks. Within this segment, hardware products consist principally of printed circuit boards that are used in computer systems or subsystems. Software elements consist primarily of media processing and switching functions, as well as application programming interfaces (APIs) and a complete application development environment. The Voice Mobile Applications segment consists of flagship MyCaller ring-back tone products and its related services. The Network Infrastructure business segment includes NMSS' new wireless backhaul optimization system (known as AccessGate), which is designed to improve transport and connectivity efficiency within wireless networks.
