The market for Linux is the fastest growing enterprise OS market; at 67% worldwide growth in 2006 and with Novell owning 30% of the market, there is plenty of growth opportunity for Novell.

If the recent deal with Microsoft stays in place, Novell could potentially gain more customers, as enterprise users who are looking to integrate Windows and Linux choose SUSE over other Linux types because of its being designed in conjunction with Microsoft.
