Completion of the acquisition of the (Rio de Janeiro, December 28, 2007). PETRÓLEO BRASILEIRO S/A - PETROBRAS, [Bovespa: PETR3/PETR4, NYSE: PBR/PBRA, Latibex: XPBR/XPBRA, BCBA: APBR/APBRA], a Brazilian international energy company, announces the completion of the acquisition from Energisa S.A. of 100% of the Usina Termelétrica Juiz de Fora S.A. by Petrobras Comercializadora de Energia Ltda. Besides the acquisition of the controlling shares, the contracts with the energy commercialization rights signed by the thermoelectrical plant with the subsidiary companies of the seller in the northeast region of Brazil, as per the announcement made to the market on October 04 2007. The operation was worth R$ 211 million, R$ 52 million of which involving transferred debts Petrobras paid to the National Economic and Social Development Bank (BNDES). As usually occurs in operations of this nature, price adjustments and the respective payments may take place in the upcoming weeks, after the elaboration of the acquisition final closing balance.
