Start up of FPSO BW Cidade de São Vicente at well RJS-647 in
Santos Basin Pre-Salt
Rio de Janeiro, March 2nd, 2012 – Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras announces the start up of FPSO BW Cidade de São Vicente at the Iracema area (Block BM-S-11), in the pre-salt layer of Santos Basin. The platform was connected to well RJS-647, at a water depth of 2,212 meters.
The platform will operate in the area for approximately six months, gathering technical data on of reservoir behavior and oil flow in the subsea lines, amongst other data. The information gathered will support the development of the final production system, expected to be in operation by the end of 2014, with the installation of FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba.
During the test period, the well is expected to produce a restricted flow of some 10,000 barrels of oil per day. The project is being developed by the consortium formed by Petrobras (Operator, with a stake of 65%), BG E&P Brasil Ltda. - BG Group (25%) and Petrogal Brasil S.A. (10%).
