Senomyx, Inc. was founded September 1998 by Howard Hughes Medical Investigators Charles Zuker and Roger Y. Tsien (Nobel Laureate), whom also founded Aurora Biosciences (acquired by Vertex Pharmaceuticals for about $592 million in stock). Senomyx uses taste receptor-based assays and screening technologies to discover and develop flavor enhancers and taste modulators for the food and beverage industry.
