InfoComm International Partners With Sonic Foundry Event Services to Webcast Free Seminar During AV Week

MADISON, Wis., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- InfoComm International's celebration of AV Week will be shared worldwide thanks to Sonic Foundry, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management. For the first time, Sonic Foundry's Event Services group will webcast the multimedia presentations from The Power of AV: Successful Meetings and Events with Audiovisual Technologies, taking place October 21 at the Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, D.C.

The Power of AV was originally planned to engage trade associations and meeting planners from the Washington D.C. area. By partnering with Event Services, a leading provider of webcasting for blended conferences and events, InfoComm International will extend the reach of the event to an unlimited online audience. The on-demand presentation, powered by Mediasite, will be available at www.sonicfoundry.com/avpower.

The on-site and on-demand audiences will hear from all sides of the meeting and AV industries to learn how to use technology to maximize the impact of their events. A panel consisting of a technology expert, a meeting planner and a live-events producer will discuss best practices for choosing an AV provider, asking the right questions and determining a realistic budget.

"Using Mediasite extends our reach beyond the four walls of the event site," said Duffy Wilbert, CTS, CAE, senior vice president of membership, InfoComm International. "We're excited to demonstrate one way that AV technology can enhance your events, and we'll have many more tips for meeting planners."

Sonic Foundry's Event Services group and its strategic partners supply technical webcasting services and expertise to organizations who seek to complement their conference or event with viewing over the web. Using the patented Mediasite webcasting and content management platform to automate the capture, management and delivery of multimedia presentations, the Event Services group has provided live and on-demand webcasting for clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations and university associations to sporting events and charitable organizations.

"The meeting and events industry is undergoing a sea-change in how groups meet and share information, and technology is at the heart of the movement. InfoComm is a long-time leader in educating the meeting industry on how to stay ahead of the game, and with the explosion of virtual and hybrid events, they are also putting their key message into practice," said Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and CEO of Sonic Foundry. "As a long-time member of InfoComm, it is a pleasure to be their partner in creating this blended event, an experience that will soon be the standards for today's modern meeting."
