Standard Insurance Company ("The Standard"), a subsidiary of StanCorp Financial Group, Inc., has promoted Todd Petersen to second vice president and associate actuary for Individual Disability Insurance. Petersen will continue to lead Individual Disability Insurance operations and its actuarial department.

Petersen joined The Standard in 2006 as director and assistant actuary in Individual Disability Insurance. Prior to joining The Standard, Petersen held actuarial roles at Genworth Financial, Berkshire Life Insurance and Jackson National Life Insurance.
“Todd has grown into increasingly larger roles in IDI, involving actuarial and line leadership, as well as operations,” said Dawn McMaster, assistant vice president of Individual Disability Insurance. “His contributions have been a major driver in the success of the business.”
Petersen earned Bachelor of Business Administration in actuarial science at the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
