The Standard Charitable Foundation grants $7,500 to the Children’s Cancer Association

The Standard Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Standard Insurance Company (“The Standard”), has awarded a $7,500 grant in support of the Children’s Cancer Association (“CCA”).

“The Standard Charitable Foundation’s grant will help improve the quality of life for children and teens with cancer and other serious illnesses,” said Regina Ellis, founder and chief executive officer of the Children’s Cancer Association. “With the generous support of organizations like The Standard, we can continue providing much needed non-medical family support services to thousands of children, teens and family members during 2012.”

The Children’s Cancer Association meets a critical community need for non-medical family support through its award-winning services. When seriously ill kids and their families need more than medicine, CCA is there with compassion and innovation, creating moments of respite and hope in the hospital and at home. Managed by a professional staff and powered by volunteers, CCA brings soothing music in a time of crisis, friendship in a time of loneliness, resources in a time of turmoil and vital support in the midst of life-threatening illness.

Last year, CCA provided service and assistance to more than 11,500 children, teens and family members, with programs and assistance delivered 249,337 times across the United States.
