- In 2006, the company continued the globalization of its business by opening their Suzhou, China, Greenfield magnet wire facility. Phase One of the company's expansion into China is now complete and Phase Two should be completed in 2007.
- Early in 2007, the company announced a definitive agreement to acquire Nexans' magnet wire operations in Simcoe, Canada, and Tianjin, China. These two acquisitions should help establish Superior Essex as one of the global leaders in continuously transposed cable (CTC), which is a retangular wire used in the high-performance power generators and transformers that support the world's energy and power infrastructure.
