Suzlon Energy Limited (SUZLON-BY)/Bulls/Global market for wind energy is expanding

The global market for renewable energy is quickly expanding due to environmental issues like the threat of global climate change; wind power may be a huge part of this market because it is the cleanest energy source, and Suzlon is well-positioned in the global wind market.   Suzlon Energy Limited (SUZLON-BY)/Bulls/Suzlon raises private equity to expand market share

According to the Economic Times, Suzlon is close to raising 6 billion rupees ($127 million) from private equity investors in order to acquire a larger stake in Germany's REpower from the Portuguese energy firm Martifer. The funds will probably be in the form of debt that can later be converted to equity. Martifer currently has a 16.79% stake in REpower. Raising private equity funding to acquire a larger stake in REpower is part of Suzlon's strategy to increase its market share and to continue to vertically integrate.
