Pembroke Pines Welcomes New CompUSA Store

CompUSA officially opens its newest Broward County store today in Pembroke Pines, located at 10121 Pines Boulevard at S. Palm Avenue. A ceremonial ribbon cutting by Pembroke Pines City Commissioner Jack McCluskey, a donation benefitting University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and store-wide specials will kick off the grand opening celebration, all starting at 5:00pm today.

The Pembroke Pines location, which is Florida’s 16th CompUSA store and the 26th nation-wide, is the first to be fully wired from opening day with “Retail 2.0,” CompUSA’s revolutionary system that merges the best of bricks-and-mortar and online shopping.

“The opening of our Pembroke Pines store reflects an overwhelming demand from our South Florida customers and our continuing success across the state,” said Gilbert Fiorentino, Chief Executive of the Technology Products Group at Systemax Inc., parent company of CompUSA. “The new store will provide more computer and electronics shoppers with the unrivaled experience that is Retail 2.0, and great prices to boot.”

The grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:00pm today will include a $5,000 donation benefiting the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center’s breast cancer research studies as part of the Glam-A-THON™, an event series with the mission to “Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye.” CompUSA will have a team participating in the Glam Doll Strut, another event to raise funds for breast cancer research, taking place the following day on Las Olas Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale.

“CompUSA is an increasingly integral part of the Florida community and we are proud to have created hundreds of new jobs across South Florida since early last year,” Mr. Fiorentino continued. “With the opening of our new Pembroke Pines store we have not only created 40 more new jobs in the area, but have also pledged a commitment to the community with a charitable contribution to help fight breast cancer. Supporting local charities has always been a priority for us and it’s even more important in these trying times when so many are in need.”
