Tecumseh Products Company is an independent, global manufacturer of hermetically sealed compressors for residential and commercial refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, dehumidifiers, window air conditioning units and residential and commercial central system air conditioners and heat pumps. The Company’s compressor products include a range of air conditioning and refrigeration compressors, as well as condensing units and complete refrigeration systems. Its compressor products range from fractional horsepower models used in small refrigerators and dehumidifiers to large compressors used in unitary air conditioning applications. It sells compressors that are used in four types of product lines: commercial refrigeration applications including freezers, dehumidifiers, display cases and vending machines; household refrigerators and freezers; commercial and residential unitary central air conditioning systems, and room air conditioners. On June 30, 2008, it sold its MP Pumps business. [1]
