NOTES TO CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

STYLE="margin-top:12px;margin-bottom:0px">NOTE 1 – THE COMPANY AND BASIS OF PRESENTATION

SIZE="2">Tessera Technologies, Inc. (together with its subsidiaries, herein referred to as “Tessera” or the “Company”), is a developer and licensor of miniaturization technologies for the electronics industry and of micro-optics
technologies for the consumer optics industry. The consolidated financial statements include the accounts of Tessera Technologies, Inc. and each of its wholly owned subsidiaries. The accompanying consolidated financial statements have been prepared
in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America and include the accounts of the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries. All significant intercompany balances and transactions are eliminated in
consolidation.

The Company’s fiscal year ends on December 31. For quarterly reporting, the Company employs a 4-week, 4-week,
5-week reporting period.
