Business Relationships

Toyota purchases materials, supplies and services from numerous suppliers throughout the world in the ordinary course of business, including Toyota’s equity-method affiliates and those firms with which certain members of Toyota’s board of directors are affiliated. Toyota purchased materials, supplies and services from these affiliated entities in the amount of ¥3,918.7 billion in fiscal 2009. Toyota also sells its products and services to Toyota’s equity-method affiliates and firms with which certain members of Toyota’s board of directors are affiliated. Toyota sold products and services to these affiliated entities in the amount of ¥1,585.8 billion in fiscal 2009. Toyota believes all of these purchase and sale transactions were arm’s-length transactions.
