Toyota must give public notice of the stock split, specifying a record date for the stock split, not less than two weeks prior to the record date. In addition, promptly after the stock split takes effect, Toyota must give notice to each shareholder specifying the number of shares to which the shareholder is entitled by virtue of the stock split. After the New Company Law becomes effective, no such notice to each shareholder is required.
