The informatics company offers software and services that help scientists and researchers in the global pharmaceutical industry organize research data, thereby streamlining the drug discovery process. Products include SYBYL, a suite of molecular modeling applications that assist in the creation of new chemical entities, and Benchware, a set of applications that store such information as experimental test decisions and results. Tripos also offers product support and training. Customers have included Bayer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Tripos was acquired by private equity firm Vector Capital in 2007.
