Departure of Director
After being on a leave of absence due to health reasons, UCBH Holdings, Inc. (the “Company”) received correspondence from Mr. David S. Ng on September 10, 2009, tendering his resignation as a Director of the Company and United Commercial Bank (the
“Bank”), effective September 8, 2009. Mr. Ng has served as a member of the Boards of Directors of
the Company and the Bank since May 18, 2006. He was Chairman of the Board’s Finance Committee, and
he has served as a member of the Board’s Audit Committee, Nominating and Corporate Governance
Committee, and Risk Oversight Committee.
