URS Selected by FEMA for Hazard Mitigation Contract

URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) today announced it has been awarded a contract by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide technical assistance and task management services for FEMA hazard mitigation programs. The five year contract has a maximum value of $150 million to URS.

Under the terms of the contract, URS will provide mitigation planning; pre-disaster mitigation grant program assistance; environmental and historic preservation reviews; risk assessment and hazard modeling that integrates geographic information system (GIS) technology and automated flood studies. URS will also provide loss avoidance studies; cost / benefit analyses; and training services.
