UNH Posts Q4 2007 Earnings UNH Posts Q4 2007 Earnings Good News for Medicare On August 3rd, United issued a press release noting higher-than-expected earnings from its Medicare segment. Merger Oversight UNH's plans to expand by a merger with the Nevada insurer Sierra Health Services were complicated as the governor of Nevada asked the state insurance commissioner to hold more hearings. The hearings could delay or prevent the anticipated merger. Backdating Blues United's shareprice fell as a federal judge allowed a law suit to go forward against United for its backdating. United also announced it would pay about 900 employees extra. The employees faced high taxes because of the backdating.
