U.S. Cellular to Promote Alan D. Ferber to Executive Vice President-Operations

CHICAGO, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- United States Cellular Corporation (NYSE: USM) today announced that it plans to appoint Alan D. Ferber as executive vice president-operations, effective January 1, 2010. Ferber is currently vice president of sales operations and chief marketing officer for U.S. Cellular®. Jay M. Ellison, executive vice president and COO, is retiring at year-end.

Ferber has more than 17 years of experience in the wireless industry and, prior to joining U.S. Cellular, he was a co-founder of traq-wireless and held leadership positions at Ameritech. He holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. in finance and marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
