Wabtec Awarded $9 Million Contract to Build Specialty Ballast Wagons for Irish Rail
WILMERDING, Pa., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) said its Wabtec Rail subsidiary in Doncaster, England has been awarded a $9 million contract to build 24 specialty ballast wagons for Irish Rail for delivery in 2010.
These High Output Ballast Wagons are operated by remote radio control and spread ballast along the tracks. During the past 10 years, Wabtec Rail has built more than 250 of these wagons for the U.K. market. The wagons will include components from the following Wabtec subsidiaries: Becorit, POLI-MZT and Standard Car Truck.
