NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 09/28/09 -- Warner Music Group Corp. (NYSE: WMG) today announced that Chris Ancliff, formerly General Counsel, EMI Group, has been appointed General Counsel - International, Warner Music Group. In this newly created position, Ancliff will report to Paul Robinson, WMG's Executive Vice President and General Counsel, and will have responsibility for all of the Group's legal and business affairs activities outside the U.S. He will be based in London and will work closely with WMG's recorded music and music publishing affiliates throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America.

In making the announcement, Robinson said, "I've had the opportunity to work with Chris on some very significant matters over the past six years. His breadth of experience, his legal acumen, his managerial skills and his integrity make him a perfect fit for this new and wide-ranging role. Ancliff began his career at Linklaters before moving to PolyGram International in 1993, where he eventually led the legal department for the popular music marketing division and later, PolyGram's filmed entertainment operations. He started in 1998 with EMI International as Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs, rising to the position of General Counsel, EMI Group, in 2007. During his eleven-year tenure at EMI, Ancliff eventually became responsible for all aspects of EMI's legal and business affairs activities including mergers and acquisitions, artist negotiations, litigation and industry issues. He has helped to inform and shape policy on music and the creative industries around the world through the active role he has played within industry trade bodies such as BPI and IFPI.

Ancliff graduated with Honours from the University of Exeter and qualified as a solicitor at The College of Law, Guildford.
