ZBB Energy Corp. is a developer of energy storage systems based in Menomonee Falls, Wis., outside Milwaukee. The clean-technology firm has been known as a supplier of zinc bromide batteries but has been working to develop energy storage and power management units for micro-grids. The systems aim to integrate power from the grid with on-site power produced from renewable energy systems or diesel generators. ZBB launched production of EnerStore energy storage units in early 2012. It is targeting the military as a key market in the United States, while it is working through a joint venture firm to target customers in China. Components for China began production in early 2012.
