Great article - you obviously know a lot about the business. However, I want to hear more about the exclusive Iphone deal. I know I have listed this rant before on various entries, but Apple is extracting unprecedented revenue shares for a manufacturer. Furthermore, in many cases (i.e. O2 in the UK) the Iphone has failed to meet handset sales projections. Is this the case with AT&T. Also, let's not forget that Verizon - the real player in the US - passed on this deal. They claimed this was purely an economic decision. Is Apple taking 30% of the rev pie for each Iphone user as they have in similar markets. Whats the story morning glory?

General comments: This is a pretty solid article. The main thing missing from this article is context, particularly in the introduction. I think you really need to emphasize that the era of traditional telefony has ended. Historically AT&T has been a dominant player in the telecommunications industry. Over the past 2 decades wireless and other alternatives (Voip) have stolen significant market share from Wireline. You should also think about geographic expansion. Wireline has very few prospects in the international arena because other countries are building out their wireless network instead.ti AT&T is a company facing significant challenges in that wireline services still generates a significant portion of the company's revenue. That Said They are poised to grow their wireless and broandband assets provide them with significant opportunities to grow. The level with which they execute on expanding these capabilities will dictate their future performance. I would defiitely mision their new tv offering as well.
Project Lght SpeedPlease explain a little more about the risks of this project. They are choosing to build out there network in this way because it is the cheaper of two options. The other option is more expensive in the medium term but may result in higher costs longerterm due to the need for more operatonal infrastructure. It may also be insufficient to meet customer video needs becuase video uses so much bandwidth.
Trends and ForcesPlease include some relevant satistics in this section like broad band penetration. There is a good graph in Bernstein. If you can find information on historical access line losses that would be great as well.
Regulatory Environment- please give some specific examples of favorable legislation or decisions.
