Tobacco is an interesting subject when looking at investments. This is a product that has the worst PR of any legal product I can think of and at the same time it is extremely profitable to the manufacturers. I also like the part about governments 2-faced approach to tobacco sales. I think two points about MO need emphasis: U.S. consumption has leveled but international growth is soaring, giving the company continued growth away from the bright media lights of the U.S. Second, MO has a long history of excellent dividend payout and dividend growth. This factor should be made know to potential investors reading this article.
