While, eBay is an iconic company and dot.com survivor, their acquisitions have either underperformed (Skype) or exist in saturated markets (Shopping.com comparison shopping engine), or generally risky legal environment (Stubhub).
While, this is a bit off topic, CNN ran an article about founders coming back to right the ship (Schultz at Starbucks, Dell at...Dell) While eBay is far from a fallen angel, it would be interesting to see Pierre Omidyar and even Jeff Skoll make a comeback. However, with Omidyar knee deep in investments (Prosper.com etc.) and Skoll investing in Hollywood (Participant Productions) - shareholders will have no such luck. If I had one suggestion for this article, it would be to document some of the history of the company and the current executive talent. This is an important enough company to warrant such an action.
Then again what has Yang done for Yahoo lately...
