I keep hearing ALL the auto companies trouble are because of the UAW and the high cost of health care,wages retirement costs,ect. I would like compare apples and oranges for a moment. The last bonus that was given to the UAW was $500.00, the CEO of Ford got $27 million. That equal the bonuses of 54,000 UAW workers. The head of Honda of North America makes $1million a year. Ford alone has over 140 people making over a million a year. Several years ago (3-4) the USA Today was talking about the auto companies and the financial problems and what was needed to fix them. It was revealed in the article that Ford's top 100 execs controlled 90% of the payroll and the answer to that was that they fired the PR firm that leaked the info. Now the brass are going to take the supplement that was contractual away from the retirees. This will amount to a 40-50% paycut if you are not age 62 yet so that you could get social security benefits. As a taxpayer I wonder how many millions of dollars that I should set aside to give the auto execs for their bonus in this time of need. UAW retiree

will car prices go up,yes the yen at an al time high,will result in all car from japan and in the us because of the high improt content and the hundreds of thousand complete car imported by Toyota and honda. toyota's worst fear is a strong yen. hang on to your hat!!
