This is a strong overview and detailed breakdown of Google's operations and emerging business opportunities. However, the reference to Google's mobile business should be expanded to include a reference to the Gphone, a potential competitor to the IPhone and nearly mythical and much talked about product currently under development. Additionally, their AdSense platform has already rolled out and is more robust than Yahoo's or any search based product on the market.

Congratulations! You've done a very thorough treatment of Google's business model. I'd like to see more detailed coverage of the GOOG competitors, especially in China. Yahoo has a 40% stake in Alibaba and may seize control of the Chinese search and advertising market. More likely, the winners will be Chinese companies Focus Media FMCN in advertising and BIDU in search. Also, GOOG and Yahoo YHOO both caved in to the Chinese government over internet censorship. How important is the Chinese market to Google and Yahoo?

I have never bought stocks before and would like to buy the google stocks can you help me on where and what I must do?

You need to open a brokerage account. Look at TD Ameritrade, Scott Trade, Fidelity, or Charles Schwab. There's an interesting new company called Zecco.com that offers free commissions.

After you do that you can buy Google. It's stock symbol is GOOG. Right now it's trading at $691 per share. You can buy one share.

GOOG is expensive. If I had $200B to spend, not sure that I'd buy GOOG rather than CVX. While both have an addicted and growing customer base, Google will have to grow like mad to match Chevron's net income, which is 7x higher...
