A little research shows a company in a lot of businesses. How about an outline of the different business lines and the portion of revenues/profits each brings in. LUK looks like it could be a mini Berkshire. Let us know what its is doing and some of their business plans. Also, the stock chart shows some nice volatility, how about some WikiChart annotations for explanation?

Leucadia is often compared to a mini-Berkshire Hathaway. They have a fair amount of investments in natural resources, real estate, and manufacturing companies, and are investing for the long term. The firm's returns are episodic and tend to be countercyclical. Their time horizon is quite long and they require patience from their investors. One of the current concerns is succession of the top brass of the firm. In their last annual letter to investors, Ian Cumming and Joseph Steinberg, the Chairman and President of the Company, respectively, alluded to this issue and their desire to continue to lead the firm for years to come. However, it is also possible that they merge with another firm or find some leaders from within.
