The 2nd bears point states that Apple will order nand memory for its devices from SNDK's competitors. I'd like to know _why_ that's the case. Maybe it's obvious to some, but it would be nice to see proof of claims like that.

While other Nand products may look the same the facts have been proven that SNDK offers the best both in product and controllers.

That said, considering that a mear 30% of all Handhelds are Smart Devices computing capabilities now add the rest of the Global Demand including but not limited to Handheld Smart Devices, Laptops, PC, Photo Devices, Music devices and more all use Nand. Now, lets take this one step further SSD and iSSD demand continues to Soar.

Indeed, we have been forecasting a Industry and Sector Wide Consolidation (M/A) as soon the field of manufacturers is well expected to double by 2012/13

Then there's the not so little fact that this industry has ignited a Bull Rally in Technologies around the world!

Strong article - great overview of the company and their role within their market. I think more can be said about the company's aggressive expansion into the mobile business. SanDisk has worked hard to develop new products including their TrustedFlash technology line, which allows the transfer of content between devices that support their technology, and have made inroads with carriers such as Frances' Bouygues Telecom. Additionally, SanDisk has developed an 8GB memory flash drive for Qualcomm ahead of schedule.

Nice analysis. it seems that the company is at an inflection point. On the one hand they are spending a good chunk of change on R&D and are developing ever smaller NAND drives with more capacity. However, they are up against some very formidable competitors such as Samsung. While the company's products are not featured in Apple hardware, it is worth noting that the company will also benefit from the trend of computer harddrives switching to NAND technology versus HDD technology. As can be seen from the recent announcement of the new Apple MacBook, this trend is already a reality. The MacBook is being offered with the option of a 64GB NAND hard drive.

Interesting and detailed overview of the company's operations. I noticed a couple of admin fixes: The iPod and iPhone paragraph needs to be updated. Also, the flash vs. magnetic memory paragraph is confusing, the wording needs to be cleaned up. As I look at the stock chart for SNDK I see some very large price swings. There is no mention anywhere in this article on the factors that would cause such swings.
