Wow - how can this article not have been written. Someone with some experience and interest in manufacturing conglomerates needs to get on this pronto. This is a colorful business. In the 90s, these guys were rocking and rolling. The company grew through acquisitions and was lauded by the media and the financial community (especially the investment banks which earned buko advisory fees). Former CEO Dennis Kozlowski, famous for throwing a party in the Mediterranean for his wife with company funds (also for buying a $6K shower curtain) and former CFO Mark Schwartz are now in jail of course (state prison no less) but the good times were good. Since then, the company has divided into three separate companies including: a) Covidien Ltd (formerly Tyco Healthcare) b) Tyco Electronics c) Tyco International (formerly Tyco Fire & Security and Tyco Engineered Products & Services)
