gphone partner? Future orientated services on a GOOGLE platform would help out VZ tremendously! VZ vs Sprint/Nextel is the word out there and with VZ being edged out for the iPhone relationship by AT&T, they are to be a little thirsty. SPRNT is in trouble, although they have best tech platform, to include wiMax before others, they have poor numbers and retention. I believe GOOG will go for widest platform available and have the open source issues work them selves out. Andy Rubin, gadget guy, is GOOG's mobile platform guy so I believe he'll have the biggest impact on who gets the gig of the Century. I'd go for for the largest number audience and not pay for the bloated Sprint Tech budget. Refer to todays NYT's article on RUBIN.
