Solid article with a good overview of the company's operation. However, I think someone needs to add information related to their investment in games publisher Activision (NASDAQ:ATVI). Vivendi bid $1.7B for a 52% stake in a combined Blizzard (subsidiary of Vivendi and the makers of World of Warcraft) and Activision entity. Significantly, the combined entity is in a position to challenge Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) dominance in gaming, specifically in the PC and mobile industries. This is huge news in the gaming sector and deserves immediate coverage as the new company with be traded independently.

In response to your suggestion, I think that the point is valid. However... Vivendi is a massive french conglomerate that owns massive stakes in telecommunications and other industries. The video game industry is a miniscule part of its overall revenue, and up until recently, its World of Warcraft franchise was singlehandedly bringing the company's video game profits into the black. The acquisition of Activision is noteworthy, but in my opinion its not big enough for its omission to hurt the overall quality of the overview.
