Hi good article but could be updated to include 2007 results. Might be worth mentioning first data stripped out a lot of processing stuff from the business they acquired before spinning off what is basically a pure money transfer business (ie. less than what they bought) - if you know what first data paid also worth mentioning that. competition and immigration

Overall, I thought that the article was well done. I think that you covered the major points of interest well. My main suggestion is that you be more specific around the areas of competition and immigration.

Introduction

I would cut this down. I would eliminate the third paragraph. I would then make sure that the 2nd and third paraphs address the immigrant immigration reform and increasing competition from banks and online money transfer companies. Please be specific.

Competition

Please talk more about the banks. For instance the Fed Reserve's system which would allow banks to make transactions for less than .67 cents per item. Banks have tried and failed to attract immigrants who make up the vast majority of WU's customer base. Talk about the ATM gambit. Also mention the alliance between US Banc Corp Money gram and B of A and Mexican Banks.
