Conexant Systems designs and develops semiconductor solutions that enable consumers to access the digital world. The company's products enable set-top boxes (STBs), personal computers (PCs), and game terminals to share voice, video, and data over broadband networks including asynchronous digital subscriber line (ASDL), cable, and direct broadcast satellite systems. The company also provides embedded modem solutions for Internet connected televisions, Web phones, and personal digital assistants (PDAs). The company's revenue is broken down into four operating segments: Broadband Access (DSL, cable chipsets), Imaging and PC Media (PCTV, analog modem), Wireless Access (802.11 solutions), and Media Processors (video decoders and set-top box components). In fiscal 2007, Imaging and PC Media accounted for 38.5% of total revenues, Broadband Media Processing Products 29.1%, Broadband Access Products 26.3%, and Embedded Wireless Networking Products 6.1%. On a geographical basis, Asia Pacific generated approximately 83% of total revenues while Americas contributed 11% of total revenues. Europe, Middle East and Africa accounted for remaining 6%.
