BANCROFT, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 08/27/09 -- Designer of the MUTS (Multi Use Trailer System), Larry Edgar, has found a manufacturer located in Elora, Ontario to manufacture his amazing ATV off-road pull-behind utility trailer. According to Ian Cook of Wellington Manufacturing Inc., the introduction of the MUTS, the Mighty MUTS http://www.muts.ca and the accessories as a new line for the company has helped avoid lay offs during these tough economic times.

Although called a trailer, the MUTS is a one of a kind multi function (with accessories) personal assistant for farmers, loggers, hunters, acreage owners, etc. MUTS was originally designed by Edgar for his own personal use. Living on sixty acres in east central Ontario, Larry was doing forestry management, firewood, producing maple syrup and landscaping. He needed many different implements to make his work easier but couldn't afford them so he began to design one machine that could do it all. He proceeded to teach himself how to use AutoCAD, a computerized drafting program and developed the MUTS. He had it welded at a local garage and the owner told Larry that the trailer was genius and he should mass produce and sell it.

Having always been an entrepreneur at heart he proceeded to develop his concept and, after taking a welding course, he started to produce them himself. As a one man operation it became very difficult to perform all aspects of his business and Edgar had to make a decision to go big or shut down. After attempting to find a local manufacturer, he was introduced to a sourcing company with factories in China and after a trip to China contracted to have a container of MUTS manufactured there. Dealing with an offshore company presented many challenges and Edgar Enterprises went back to sourcing out a Canadian Fabricator.

In late 2008 Ian Cook of Wellington Manufacturing saw the MUTS at the Royal Winter Agricultural Fair and contacted Edgar Enterprises to see if they would be interested in receiving a quote to fabricate the MUTS. This has proven to be a win win story.
