Epicor Software develops and markets enterprise application software solutions targeting mid-sized companies with annual revenue of $10 million to $1 billion. Epicor's solutions automate and integrate critical business information across the entire value chain so that customers, suppliers, partners and employees can collaborate on competing more effectively in the global marketplace. The company's sweet spot is either divisions of larger companies or emerging businesses with revenue in the range of $10 million to $1 billion in annualized revenue. The company has a broad vertical focus garnering over 20,000 plus customers across various business segments with software installs running in 144 countries. The company has around 2,500 employees, focuses on direct sales, has a 50/50 split between existing and new customer license revenue and derives over 63% of total revenue from the North American market.

The company's solutions cover a diverse range of industries. Epicor, for instance, sells products designed for specific types of manufacturing, such as metal fabrication, industrial machinery, automotive, electronics, consumer goods and aerospace. In addition, the company has a distribution suite that includes warehouse and inventory management, CRM, and business intelligence solutions. Also, in the areas of services, Epicor provides enterprise service automation (ESA) solution that improves staff utilization, maximizes billing and revenue recognition, and increases cash flow. Furthermore, the company offers a hospitality solution, designed for food service, hotel, sports and recreation and other entertainment companies. This solution provides, among other things, cash and sales management, food costing and business intelligence. Its retail solution works in small PC-based point-of-sale retail outlets as well as in larger distributed environments where the merchandising requirements are more complex.

In Q3 of 2007, License fees comprised 23% of total revenue, Consulting 32%, Maintenance 39%, and Hardware and other 6%.
