Ethanol futures are traded on the Chicago Board of Trade under ticker symbol AC in U.S dollars and cents per gallon.[1]
The chart at left shows front-month Ethanol futures prices on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) in dollars per gallon. Please note that because of ticker conflicts, Wikinvest uses the tickers AK and ZK for pit and electronic sessions, respectively, rather than the more traditional AC and ZC.
Delivery Dates
Ethanol futures are delivered every year in January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December (all months).[1]

Tick Value
One tenth of one cent ($0.001) per gallon.[1]
Daily Price Limit
Thirty cents ($0.30) per gallon ($8,700 per contract) above or below the previous day's settlement price. No limit in the spot month ( limits are lifted beginning on First Position Day).[1]
Trading Hours
- Open Outcry: 9:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Chicago Time
- On the CME Globex electronic platform: 6:36 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Chicago Time.[1]
Last Trading Day
Trading ceases on the second business day following the last trading day of the delivery month..[1]
Deliverable Grades
Denatured Fuel Ethanol as specified in The American Society for Testing and Materials standard D4806 for Denatured Fuel Ethanol for Blending with Gasolines for Use as Automotive Spark-Ignition Engine Fuel plus California standards.
