"IP Factory" is industrial jargon where "IP" is an acronym for "Intellectual Property". The term can be used to describe a business model where the entity exploiting the model has no possession of production facilities or more specifically consists principally of R&D operations to develop techniques to sell to other entities.

It can also be defined as an entity's R&D division.
