Karachi Stock Exchange([http://www.kse.com.pk/])is the biggest and most liquid exchange and has been declared as the "Best Performing Stock Market of the World for the year 2002". As on June 29, 2007, 658 companies were listed with the market capitalization of Rs. 4,019.418 billion (US $ 66.16) having listed capital of Rs. 631.125 billion (US $ 10.39 billion). The KSE 100 Index closed at 13772.46 on June 29, 2007.
KSE has been well into the 4th year of being one of the Best Performing Markets of the world as declared by the international magazine "Business Week". Similarly the US newspaper, USA Today, termed Karachi Stock Exchange as one of the best performing bourses in the world.
