DEVELOPER Keppel Land is expanding its hospitality business in Myanmar by adding a US$80 million (S$106 million) wing at its Sedona Hotel Yangon, more than doubling its number of rooms.

KEPPEL Corp's takeover offer for its property arm Keppel Land closed yesterday with the parent company ending up a whisker shy of a key threshold that would have led to a better payout to minority shareholders.
In a filing to SGX, Keppel says it has control of 90.9 per cent of the total number of issued shares in Keppel Land. Keppel needs to own 90 per cent of the minority shareholders’ shares, before the compulsory acquisition threshold is triggered.

KEPPEL Corp (KepCorp) said yesterday that it now owns 85.6 per cent of Keppel Land (KepLand), as it inched closer to the minimum 95.5 per cent thresholdit needs to take its property subsidiary private.
