The NASDAQ Composite is an index of all traded securities on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange, including common stocks, ADRs, tracking stocks, and limited partnerships listed in this stock market. The NASDAQ Composite has over 3,000 components, and it is a leading indicator of the performance of stocks of technology companies and growth stocks. On February 5, 1971, the NASDAQ Composite Index began with a base of 100.00[1].
Both U.S. and international companies are listed on the NASDAQ exchange and included in the NASDAQ Composite Index.
