Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) Deflator |

The personal consumption expenditure deflator measures the average change over time in the price paid for all consumer purchases.[1] For this reason, the PCE deflator measures changes in the cost of living, and because it measures the price paid for all consumer purchases, versus just a basket of goods, it is considered a more accurate measure of inflation than the CPI.[2]
