FreightCar America, Inc. (America) manufactures, rebuilds, repairs, sells and leases freight cars used for hauling coal, other bulk commodities, steel and other metals, forest products and automobiles. During the year ended December 31, 2009, the Company specialized in the production of aluminum-bodied, coal-carrying railcars, which represented 86% of its deliveries of railcars. The Company also refurbishes and rebuilds railcars and sellsforged, cast and fabricated parts for all of the railcars it produces, as well as those manufactured by others. The Company is a manufacturer of coal-carrying railcars. During 2009, its primary customers were financial institutions, shippers and railroads, which represented 49%, 43% and 8%, respectively, of its total sales attributable to each type of customer. In July 2009, its manufacturing facility in Roanoke, Virginia ceased production of railcars.
